Your privacy, in plain English

• You don't need an account to use the app.
• Your choices (location and preferences) are used to generate plan suggestions.
• Analytics are optional and off until you say yes. The app works the same either way.
• We try to collect as little as possible and avoid storing precise addresses or personal details in analytics.

When you use the planner, you provide:

• Location / search context — the town, area, or postcode you type or pick, so we can look for things near you.
• Preferences — things like vibe/mood, budget, timing or dates, group type, travel range, energy level, and indoor/outdoor. You can also add short optional notes.
• Beta feedback — if you fill in the feedback form, we receive your ratings and any optional written comments.

• Product analytics (only if you allow it) — through PostHog, we record events like pages viewed, onboarding steps completed, plans generated, and plans saved or rated. These help us understand what's working during the beta.
• Technical data from our providers — our host Vercel and (if enabled) PostHog automatically process technical details such as your IP address, device and browser type, approximate location, and timestamps in order to deliver, secure, and measure the app.

We deliberately try to keep analytics coarse: for example we send an approximate locality or region rather than your full address or exact postcode, and we strip obvious contact details (like emails and phone numbers) out of written feedback before it reaches analytics. We use broad flags, ratings, and categories wherever we can instead of raw text.

To create suggestions, your inputs (your location and preferences) are sent to our AI provider, OpenAI, which returns candidate plans. Please don't put sensitive personal information into the notes or search fields, since that text is used to generate your results.

Based on OpenAI's API data controls, data sent to the OpenAI API is not used to train OpenAI's models by default, unless the account holder opts in. You can read more in OpenAI's policies.

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it for advertising. We rely on a small number of service providers to run the app:

• OpenAI — receives your inputs to generate recommendations.
• Vercel — hosts the app and handles delivery, logs, and performance.
• PostHog — receives product analytics, only if you consent.
• PayPal (or the configured support provider) — only involved if you choose to click the external support/donation link, and only under their own terms.

We do not sell your data.

• In your browser — most of your data stays on your device using local storage: your saved plans, recent preferences, your "taste" profile, an anonymous ID, and your analytics choice. Clearing your browser storage removes these.
• On the server, briefly — when you generate plans, your inputs are processed on our server and may be held in a short-lived cache to make repeat requests faster. We don't create user accounts or a long-term profile database.
• With analytics (if allowed) — events you trigger are stored by PostHog against an anonymous ID.

• Local browser data stays on your device until you clear it or reset the app (for example by clearing this site's storage).
• Analytics data is kept according to our PostHog project settings.
• Server logs and caches are kept only as long as needed for debugging, security, abuse prevention, and performance. In practice, generated results are cached on the server for a few hours (about 4 hours by default), a short-lived copy is kept in your browser for around 45 minutes to speed up repeat requests, and a duplicate-request guard lasts about 5 minutes.

For anyone in the UK/EU, here's why we're allowed to use your data:

• To generate plans — we use your inputs because it's needed to provide the service you asked for.
• Analytics — only with your consent.
• Security, debugging and abuse prevention — our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and safe.
• Donations/support — handled by the external payment provider if you choose to use it.

Where the law applies, you can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to how we use your personal data. You can also withdraw analytics consent at any time via "Analytics choices" in the footer. To make a request, just email somethingsomewhereemail@proton.me.

If you're in the UK and unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

• Analytics on or off — decline in the banner, or change your mind anytime via "Analytics choices" in the footer. Turning it off stops further analytics capture in your browser.
• Clear your data — clearing your browser's site data for this app removes everything stored locally.
• Questions or deletion requests — email us at somethingsomewhereemail@proton.me and we'll help. Because we don't use accounts, please tell us anything that helps us locate relevant data (for example your anonymous analytics ID if you shared it).
